Privacy policy

Effective October 21, 2026. Emerald Heritage Farm LLC, Goodrich, Michigan.

The short version

This website is a place to learn about our farm. It does not ask you to create an account, and it does not use advertising trackers or social media tracking pixels.

What this site collects

  • Standard server logs. Our website is hosted by Google (Firebase Hosting). Like nearly every web host, Google records basic technical details for each visit, such as the page requested, the time, your browser type, and your IP address, to run and secure the service. We don't use these logs to identify you. Google's handling of this data is covered by Google's Firebase privacy documentation.
  • Email you send us. If you email hello@emeraldheritagefarm.com, we'll have your address and whatever you wrote. We use it only to reply to you.

What this site does not do

  • No cookies set by us on this website. The pay page loads Stripe's and PayPal's own payment scripts, and those may set their cookies for fraud prevention; see "Paying at the stand" below.
  • No analytics or advertising trackers on this website. (We do count clicks on links in our own emails — see "Email updates" below.)
  • No selling, renting, or sharing of your information with anyone.

Links to other sites

We link to our pages on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.

Paying at the stand

If you pay by phone at the farm stand, the payment itself is handled by Stripe (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay) or PayPal (PayPal, Venmo) under their own privacy policies; we never see your card or account details. We keep a record of the order: what was bought, the amounts, the time, and which service took the payment. We do not keep your name or email with it. If your phone wallet shares your email so Stripe can send a receipt, we pass it to Stripe for that receipt only and do not store it, unless you ticked the "email me" box above.

Email updates

If you sign up for farm updates, we collect your email address and, if you choose to give it, your first name. We use them for one thing: sending you news about the farm, like when the stand opens and what's on the table. We keep a simple record of how those emails went, which is set out below. We won't sell, rent, or share your address with anyone.

If you tick the "email me" box when paying at the stand, we add the email address from your payment to that same list. The box is off unless you tick it, and the payment itself is unaffected either way.

  • Where it's stored: in a private database on Google's Firebase platform that only our own server code can read.
  • Who sends the email: our own farm mailbox, hosted by Zoho Mail. Your address passes through Zoho's mail system to deliver our messages, under Zoho's privacy policy.
  • Unsubscribing: every email has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works immediately. You can also email us and we'll remove you by hand.
  • Spam protection: to keep bots out, our signup form keeps a short-lived, scrambled record of the network address a signup came from. It can't be turned back into your address and is not linked to your email.
  • Link clicks in our emails: if one of our emails has a button and you tap it, the link goes through our own website for a moment and then straight on to the page you were going to. We record that the link was clicked, and when. That's how we know whether an update was worth sending. We don't record whether you opened the email, we don't follow what you do on the site afterwards, we don't set any cookie, and we don't keep your device details or network address. We also never share any of it.
  • What we keep about your emails: for each update, whether it reached you or bounced, and whether you clicked. If an address fails several times in a row we flag it so we can stop mailing a dead address.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
